Brother Victor
Testimony of Pastor Victor Oses
One day my daughter Carol asked for my permission to attend a summer camp with the New Life Baptist Church in Lincolnton, NC. I let her go even though being Catholic at that time I did not accept any other religions because of the ways I was raised as a child, which was told to me that the only way between God and myself as a man, is through Jesus Christ. This was back in 1982. When my daughter arrived at home from camp her teacher told me that my daughter had something to tell me. My daughter told me that she had accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and that this would bring savior to her and her home. She was certain that the Lord would bring good changes to the home. When she told me all of this all I said was “that’s good.” My life at this time was a disaster. I was an alcoholic and my actions were making my wife and children suffer a great deal. One week later at summer Bible School, my daughter took my son Steven and he came back telling me the same things that she had told me a week earlier, he
had also accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. They told me that the only one left to accept Jesus Christ as his savior was me, to which I replied that it would “maybe” happen. One week later at Cat Square, my children were invited to the anniversary of the first Hispanic church in North Carolina. When I took my children there I was asked to please stay for the service. I decided to stay, and on this day, July 23, 1982 I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Four months later my wife did the same and since then we have served him and will continue serving him as our Lord and Savior.
